The Play

Drop this sack.

Drop this bag you have been carrying. God knows what triggered this in you. But this desire to be the saver of the world, to rescue the world out of its misery, to become a "big player", to become "somebody" is absolutely absurd. Enjoy every moment, live it with intensity. There is no catching/holding, that which is fleeting. All you can catch or hold on to, is how you live every moment, not what you get out of it. Fame, money, glory, pride - all is eventually lost, all forgotten.

You cannot save the world of hunger, of deprivation, or sadness. But if you must try, and if you absolutely absolutely must, try with all your heart and do it now.

PLAY THE GAME, DON'T GET PLAYED. And play your game, the game YOU LIKE. Just enjoy the game, not what you get out of it. Let the process be joyous, fun, full of love and fearless.

Let people say what they want to say. Let anybody think what they want to think. Do what YOU LOVE, simple!

Everybody is playing a game, the lawyer, the manager, the sweeper, the magistrate, the policeman, the thief, the activist and the politician. Everyone is playing for different reasons. Some play to win for themselves, some play for the team to win, and why they want to win or why they want the team to win vary for different reasons.

Some play for the love of the game. These people are not guaranteed to win, because they lack the desire to win. They love swinging the bat, dribbling the ball. And that is their biggest secret, their biggest power, in the game. Their love for it, makes them really good at it.

The playground has some ground rules, or perhaps it doesn't. Even in nature, there is no guarantee that one's play would not affect the other. The lion must kill the baby cow. In such cases, one must steer clear of such lions and try our best to avoid being eaten.

Watch the world as a playground and do what you like. Its not because its sensible or its right, but because it is full of fun, love and joy. And where is fun, love and joy in being alone. Maybe for some, but great fun, love and joy is in togetherness, in the coming together of everybody.

So have fun, let go!

If you want to do something for the world, do it now. Don't postpone it. When you postpone, you typically don't have desire to do or you don't find it fun. Postponing something is a clear indicator that you don't find it interesting, or joyful. Afterall, what do you postpone? Something you fear, hate or are indifferent to.

Perhaps, another interesting thing is, there are different levels of play. There is the player, the coach, the funder/producer, and each play is different and unique. Each is its own art form, each has its own intricacies. Enjoying that play, and doing that with some conscience, with some larger purpose beyond yourself, letting others join the play and enjoying the play together.
